The winner of the New York-Washington series should be able to put the fire out rather quickly in the eastern conference finals verses the Devils. New Jersey won't enjoy the luxury of jumping right into the conference final series like they were able to do against the Flyers in their recent series. Philadelphia, on the other hand, had to endure a deflating six-day bloody layoff betweeen series and that took a lot of emotion out of the club coming off their series against Pissburgh. This time it'll be the Devils who sit around for a good seven days waiting for the winner of the current seven-game series between the Caps and Strangers, who play game seven on Saturday and the winner will be able to carry a lot of that emotion into the conference final against New Jersey, just as the Devils themselves did against Philadelphia, coming off their seven-game series against Florida. So the Caps or Strangers* should enjjoy a distinct advantage verses the Devils.
