McCann to Yanks, 'huge' for World Series odds

Free agent catcher Brian McCann and the New York Yankees have reportedly agreed to a five-year, $85 million contract, with one book calling it a 'huge' signing for the Yankees.

The Yankees have gone from 20/1 to 16/1 to win the World Series and from 10/1 to 8/1 to win the American League according to

"With the short porch in right, this is a huge signing for the Yankees," Mike Perry of told Covers.

McCann played in 102 games last season coming off shoulder surgery and hit .256 with 20 home runs and 57 RBI. As long as McCann can stay healthy, he will have the opportunity to build on those numbers for the Bronx Bombers with Yankee Stadium being a favorable matchup for left-handed hitters.

McCann is a career .277 hitter with 176 home runs and 414 RBI in nine seasons in Atlanta. Last season was the first time since his rookie season in which he did not play at least 121 games.
