Rafa, Serena odds on faves to capture French Open

The French Open, the second Grand Slam event of the season, gets underway Sunday in Paris and the actual draw will take place Friday. Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams are the two favorites heading into the finale of the clay court season.

The Australian Open is the first Grand Slam tournament of the tennis season and Novak Djokovic took home the men's title and Victoria Azarenka captured the women's crown.

On the men's side of things in France, its hard to go against Rafael Nadal. Rafa has won seven of the past eight titles at Roland Garros and is on an absolute tear since returning from a knee injury. He's rattled off six titles this year since coming back from a seven-month hiatus from the game due to the injury.

The pool on the men's side thinned out a bit as Andy Murray has pulled out of the event due to a nagging back injury.

Rafa goes into the tourney listed as -175 to win outright and take yet another clay court event.

Here is a look at the men's odds:

On the women's side, Serena Williams is riding a tidal wave of momentum into Paris and is the favorite to hoist silverware at +100.

Serena has won four titles in a row and is coming off a 6-1, 6-3 victory in the final of the Italian Open over Azarenka.

Maria Sharapova is the defending champion and is listed at +350 to repeat. Sharapova won the WTA Tour Porsche Tennis Grand Prix back in April and is ranked No. 2 on the WTA tour.
