Handicapping Super Bowl sports crossover props

There’s an endless amount of Super Bowl props for bettors to choose from this week, but perhaps the most value can be found in crossover props. Versatile bettors can combine their football knowledge with their expertise in other sports in an attempt to turn a profit.

Let’s take a look a few crossover bets available at the LVH that could be profitable Sunday:

Sidney Crosby points vs. Colin Kaepernick TD passes

SIDNEY CROSBY (PIT) POINTS                  PK   -110

**(Penguins/Capitals--February 3, 2013) Prop closes at 9:30 am Pacific
**Crosby Points(Goals+Assists)--Shootout Goals excluded

Crosby has 35 points in 22 career games (13 goals, 22 assists) against the Capitals. So if you think Kaepernick is good for at least two TD passes Sunday the stats are on your side. Crosby and the Pens host the Devils Saturday and will be playing the second half of a back-to-back in Washington Sunday. Crosby is off to a relatively slow start by his standards, producing five points in the opening five games.

Dwyane Wade points vs. Colin Kaepernick completions

DWYANE WADE (MIA) POINTS                    -4.0  -110

**(Heat/Raptors--February 3, 2013) Prop closes at 11:00 am Pacific

D-Wade averages a hearty 27.8 points per game in his career against the Raptors and is coming off a 35-point effort on Jan. 23 in his last meeting with Toronto. The Heat are in Indiana Friday and have a day off Saturday, so Wade should be well rested for the Sunday matinee with the Raps. Kaepernick has averaged only 17 completions over his nine starts this season.

Lionel Messi goals vs. Frank Gore TDs

LIONEL MESSI (BARCELONA) GOALS              -0.5  -180
FRANK GORE (SF) TOUCHDOWNS                  +0.5  +160

**(Spanish La Liga soccer match Barcelona at Valencia. Lionel Messi must play in match.
**Prop closes at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on February 3, 2013.  Match must be completed by February 4, 2013 for action)**

Messi has 33 goals in 21 league games so far this season, including a four-goal outburst against Osasuna this past weekend. Rumor has it Messi is close to signing an extension with Barcelona and could be out to prove his worth Sunday. Gore has scored at least one TD in each of San Francisco’s last four games, including a two-score performance against Atlanta in the NFC Championship.
