Tiger Woods still favored to win golf’s British Open

The third major of the PGA season begins Thursday at the Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire, England and there is a familiar name favored to win the event. Tiger Woods – a few weeks removed from winning his third event of the season – is the favorite to win the British Open according to Vegas oddsmakers.

The LVH lists Tiger Woods at 8/1 to win what he called last week his “favorite major”. Woods is a three-time Open Championship winner but he’s never lifted the Claret Jug at St. Annes.

Rory McIlroy is a close second choice to win the Open at 10/1, followed by Lee Westwood (12/1) and Luke Donald (15/1). Phil Mickelson is 25/1 along with British golfer Justin Rose.
