Look for Paige Bueckers and Shakira Austin to be among the standout performers in today's WNBA doubleheader.

If the opening weeks are any indication, the WNBA race is going to have twists and turns ahead — and tonight's action features a few playoff hopefuls, including Paige Bueckers' Dallas Wings.

Those expectations are likely a stretch for the Connecticut Sun, who are still looking for their first victory of the year, but there's still plenty to like about the WNBA player props market here.

Read on for my WNBA picks for this May 18 doubleheader.

Paige Bueckers Over 20.5 points (-105)

The Dallas Wings' first three games of the season have confirmed that the burden on Paige Bueckers' shoulders remains huge.

Sure, she lit up the Minnesota Lynx for 27 points on Thursday, but Dallas still slipped to a narrow loss. If anything, the Wings need even more scoring from their franchise cornerstone, and that makes this Over an attractive pick.

The solution likely includes a bump in field goal attempts. Bueckers hasn't taken more than 13 shots in any of her outings this season — after averaging 15.1 in 2025 — and it's up to the Dallas coaches to nudge her towards a more aggressive, shoot-first mindset.

A visit from a young Washington Mystics squad today should help. The Mystics have allowed a combined 200 points in their past two contests, and Bueckers is making her 3-pointers at a 55% clip so far this month.

Shakira Austin Over 8.5 rebounds (-110)

So far, the Washington Mystics are living up to the preseason optimism, and Shakira Austin is showing why the franchise was so determined to re-sign her.

Austin is averaging 17.7 PPG and 10.0 RPG this year, and while it's a small sample size, she and Kiki Iriafen are emerging as one of the WNBA's best frontcourt duos.

Look for Austin to be a force again here on the road against Dallas. She's grabbed 9+ boards in all three contests this month, while the Wings have been outrebounded in each of their games.

With Sonia Citron knocking down shots to boost the Washington offense, it frees up Austin to wreak havoc in the paint, and this Over should be well within reach tonight.

Bridget Carleton Under 15.5 points (-120)

Bridget Carleton has had a lot of responsibility thrown her way since becoming one of the faces of the Portland Fire, and that includes a bigger offensive role than she's really equipped for.

Though Carleton is a reliable 3-point shooter, she's now being guarded by opponents' best perimeter defenders and having to work even harder for every bucket. She's fallen short of this O/U number in two of her three outings with Portland, and I'm fading her points prop against a Connecticut Sun team that should be hungry for a first win of the season.

It's also easy to forget that Carleton only averaged 6.5 PPG in 2025 with the Lynx, despite shooting 37% from downtown.
