Currently sitting eighth and in the final WNBA playoff slot, the Toronto Tempo look to move over the .500 mark when they host the Phoenix Mercury today.

It’s been a rough opening for the 6-13 Mercury, and it won’t get any easier against the Tempo, as they’ll be without star Alyssa Thomas (suspension).

My Mercury vs. Tempo predictions and WNBA picks have the home team taking advantage of a struggling and short-handed visitor on Saturday, June 27.

Mercury vs Tempo prediction

Mercury vs Tempo best bet: Tempo -4.5 (-110 at bet365)

The Toronto Tempo opened this nine-game homestand with a statement, routing L.A. behind Marina Mabrey's record-tying 53-point performance.

The Tempo have now climbed to second in the WNBA at 91.4 points per game.

The Phoenix Mercury are missing too much firepower to fully capitalize on Toronto's defensive issues.

The Mercury are without the suspended Thomas, the league's assist leader and their second-leading scorer, while Jovana Nogic (10.4 ppg) is also sidelined.

I'd play the Tempo up to -6.5.

Covers COVERS INTEL: The Mercury are 11th in opponent 3P% over their last 10 games.

Mercury vs Tempo same-game parlay

Tempo -4.5

Kahleah Copper Over 20.5 points

Isabelle Harrison Over 5.5 rebounds

Kahleah Copper will miss the Thomas feeds, but she’ll be counted on big time Saturday, and she’s well equipped to do so.

Copper is putting up 26.4 points on 51.2% shooting in her last five, making her 20.5-point line quite generous against the Tempo.

After missing the first 10 games of the year with a thumb injury, Isabelle Harrison has been a nice frontcourt piece for Toronto.

She’s got a great 5.5 rebound line against the Mercury, as Harrison has grabbed at least six rebounds in four straight and has hit that number in all but two appearances on the year.

Mercury vs Tempo SGP

  • Tempo -4.5
  • Kahleah Copper Over 20.5 points
  • Isabelle Harrison Over 5.5 rebounds

Mercury vs Tempo player prop pick

Marina Mabrey Over 23.5 points (-105 at bet365)

Marina Mabrey put herself in the WNBA history books with her performance against L.A., but it didn’t come out of nowhere.

The WNBA’s fourth-leading scorer (21.2 ppg) is averaging 37.7 points in her last three on a blistering 56.5% shooting.

She’s already lit up Phoenix with a 30-bomb earlier this year, and she should have plenty of opportunities to hit the Over.
