Aces vs Storm Predictions, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s WNBA Game

Jewell Loyd has helped shore up the Aces defense and even though her departure has left a hole in the Storm's roster, Seattle is still a top-shelf stop unit. In other words, neither offense will have a fun day at the office.

Today's matchup between the Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm will be interesting. Both teams sport 2-1 records and there could be tension between Jewell Loyd and her old team.

The top pick from the 2015 WNBA Draft forced her way out via trade over the offseason because of her undesirable feelings toward the staff. All that tension has my Aces vs. Storm predictions anticipating a grinder of a game, resulting in a lower-than-expected final score.

Read on for my favorite WNBA picks for Sunday, May 25 ahead of this 6 p.m. ET tip.

Aces vs Storm predictions

My Aces vs Storm best bet: Under 159.5 points (-110 at bet365)

I wouldn’t bank on this game being a barn burner, as both the Las Vegas Aces and Seattle Storm have excelled defensively this season.

Seattle is giving up a league-low 74.0 points per game and can rely on several versatile stoppers. Skylar Diggins, Nneka Ogwumike, Gabby Williams, and Ezi Magbegor are well-equipped to slow down a Las Vegas team that’s lost some steam on offense.

The Aces haven’t looked the same without Kelsey Plum.

They rank seventh in points per game (80.0) through three outings and it doesn’t appear likely that they’ll lead the league in scoring as they did from 2020 to 2024.

However, they can still hang their hats on a defense thanks to the two-time Defensive Player of the Year A’Ja Wilson.

Los Vegas boasts the league’s third-best scoring defense and can limit a Seattle side adjusting to life without Jewell Loyd.

Under 159.5

Aces moneyline

Skylar Diggins Over 7.5 assists

The Aces still have all the tools to secure a victory on the road.

Wilson will be the best player on the floor and Vegas is loaded with other options. Four of the Aces’ five starters are double-digit scorers, giving them the ability to pull off comebacks on rough shooting nights. We just witnessed them do just that against the Mystics their last time out.

Las Vegas has multiple All-Star level scorers and pilfered the Storm’s best weapon over the offseason. Both teams can defend, but the outcome will ultimately be decided by the team with the more capable offense. A bad shooting night from Diggins or Ogwumike will tip the scales in the road team’s favor.

Diggins has excelled as the Storm’s go-to player and is averaging a career-high 22.0 points per game, but the game script could force her to defer on Sunday. The star guard has racked up 23 assists in two games since Seattle’s abysmal 59-point performance to open up 2025. Her new do-it-all role should put eight assists well within her reach.
