Expert WNBA moneyline picks for Aug. 22

Fever vs Liberty pick: Liberty

Kalshi probability:57%

The Indiana Fever has taken two of three from the New York Liberty, putting up at least 106 points in both their wins. They're also pretty hot, with wins in 10 of the last 13.

But the Fever are also dinged up. Caitlin Clark (back) is probable to play, but Aaliyah Boston (leg) is just questionable.

New York is playing good ball as well, going 9-4 over its last 12.

The Liberty are a sneaky-good defensive team, especially at home, ranking second in the WNBA in points allowed (80.7) and limiting opponents to just 42.1% shooting (1st).

The Fever injury woes have me on New York Saturday.

Sun vs Sparks pick: Sun

Kalshi probability: 41%

There aren't very many accomplishments to recall for this edition of the Connecticut Sun. They're 9-26, and their season has been in garbage time for a long time.

But a win Saturday would give them a 3-game regular-season sweep over the Los Angeles Sparks, a team they have actually dominated of late, winning seven out of 10.

The Sparks are in their own little tailspin, having dropped six straight, while picking up just two wins in their last 15 overall.

LA has the worst scoring defense at home, allowing a whopping 94.5 points per game, as teams are shooting a crisp 49.3% against them, which ranks last in the WNBA.

Connecticut doesn't win much, but it should in LA.

Dream vs Mercury pick: Dream

Kalshi probability: 67%

The Atlanta Dream have won four of five and have quite literally dusted the competition in those victories, with an average margin of victory of 24.5 points.

They don't mess around with their food, either. Atlanta has won nine straight against teams with losing records, including a 96-82 thumping of the Phoenix Mercury on Aug 5.

Atlanta has beaten the Mercury five straight times, and Phoenix is reeling, with just one win in its last five.
