Last Meeting ( Oct 3, 2019 ) Arizona 1, Anaheim 2

The Anaheim Ducks are 2-5-3 in their last 10 games with the victories coming against the defending Stanley Cup champion and a club that was riding a 17-game point streak. Anaheim tries to make up more ground in the crowded Pacific when it visits the division rival Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday.

"We believe that we can compete with anybody if we play consistently for 60 minutes, and we did that (Monday),'' Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler told reporters after recording a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over the Islanders after New York went 15-0-2 in its previous 17 contests. "It's a big win for our group." Arizona fell to 5-2-1 in its last eight games after a 4-3 shootout loss to Pacific leader Edmonton on Sunday. “I don’t think we should be that happy about the game,” Coyotes forward Vinnie Hinostroza told reporters Sunday after scoring his second goal in three contests. “We had a goal lead late in the third, and for some reason, recently when we’re up one goal, we tend to let the other team back into it. So it’s something we’re going to have to clean up.” Anaheim prevailed 2-1 on Oct. 3 behind 32 saves by John Gibson in the first of four meetings this season after dropping three of five encounters in 2018-19.
