Things could be very ugly for the Lions on offense tonight. First of all, the starters won't be playing, meaning undrafted rookie quarterback Luke Altmyer will get a lot of the work alongside rocket scientist Joshua Dobbs, who just signed with the team three days ago. It's a lot to expect over four quarters from two QBs with little familiarity with the system, especially with a new system under OC Drew Petzing. Compounding the issues under center is, in fact, the center position. Starter and free-agent addition Cade Mays is out with a wrist injury, Juice Scruggs has been dealing with a soft-tissue injury, and Seth McLaughlin is an undrafted rookie. The cherry on top is the potential rain in the forecast. It's going to be ugly under and around center for the Lions tonight.

Once the Cincinnati Bengals pull their starting receivers, there isn't much proven talent. That means fourth-round pick Colbie Young should have plenty of opportunities. The rookie is 6-foot-5, ball-winner (57.1% contested catch rate in college), and can take advantage of the Bengals having real experienced depth at QB (Joe Flacco, Josh Johnson).

The Detroit Lions aren't playing starting QB Jared Goff and just had backup Teddy Bridgewater retire. That means, Detroit will be relying on Joshua Dobbs, who was just signed this week, and undrafted rookie Luke Altmyer. Meanwhile, the Cincinnati Bengals have been historically awful under Zac Taylor in the preseason, averaging 18 PPG.
