This Wolverines defense ranks 33rd nationally in scoring, allowing 14.7 points per game. They held the Oklahoma Sooners, who average 33.7 points per game, to only 24 points on the road. They were able to force two turnovers as well. This Cornhuskers defense has only had one big test, but they held the Cincinnati Bearcats to only 17 points on a neutral field
Bryce Underwood struggled in his first road game, with Oklahoma holding him to just 142 yards on a putrid 9-of-24 passing. The Wolverines managed just three drives of over 50 yards, one of which came via a 75-yard touchdown run. Dylan Raiola and the Nebraska offense are clicking. The Huskers have been able to win their last two games with ease against lesser opponents, and haven’t had to show much of their playbook. Michigan’s defense is very dangerous, and Raiola will need to protect the football. But until Underwood shows he can produce on the road, I can’t back this Wolverine offense to get the job done against a quality opponent. Take the Huskers to end their misery and take a huge step forward.
