Indiana has put itself in prime position to start a season 4-0 for the first time since 2014-15 when it hosts Troy on Saturday. Each of the Hoosiers' next four games at home through Nov. 30 are part of the Indiana Challenge.

In Indiana's 91-65 rout of North Alabama on Tuesday night, 6-foot-10 freshman Trayce Jackson-Davis continued his rapid ascent by making 14-of-15 free throws on the way to a career-high 20 points while adding eight rebounds in 22 minutes. With three college games under his belt, the former Indiana Mr. Basketball is averaging 13.7 points and a team-leading eight rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the field and 81 percent at the free-throw line. Indiana leads the Big Ten in scoring (91.3 points per game) and field goal percentage (53.2), and has outscored opponents by nearly 24 points per game. Troy, which lost to UAB and Chattanooga to start the season, will be hard pressed in its first game in the Hoosier state since 1997 to contain Jackson-Davis and his Indiana teammates.

ABOUT TROY (0-2): The Trojans, in their first year under former Texas-Arlington coach Scott Cross after winning 12 games last season, are led by 6-3 guard Darian Adams, who has made 8-of-14 3-point shots in the first two games and averages a team-leading 16 points. KJ Simon, a 6-3 guard, is averaging 12.5 points, four rebounds and three steals while 6-8, 185-pound Zay Williams averages 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds. Cross' teams are known for playing at an up-tempo pace and the Trojans have shot 54 3-pointers through two games, making 40.7 percent.

ABOUT INDIANA (3-0): Al Dunham is the Hoosiers' top scorer through three games at 16.7 points per game because of his 68 percent shooting from the field and 46.2 percent accuracy on 3-pointers. Justin Smith is next at 14.3 points per game, and point guard Rob Phinisee (11.3 points. team-best 16 assists) was a steadying force in Indiana's previous game against North Alabama with 13 points and six assists. Coach Archie Miller wants to see defensive improvement from his team, particularly on the perimeter after North Alabama's 6-of-7 shooting on 3-pointers early in Tuesday night's game helped keep the game close at the break (47-40 at halftime).

TIP-INS

1. Indiana redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter appears more comfortable after missing all of last season with a leg injury, progressively scoring more points (12 on Tuesday against North Alabama) in each game this season.

2. Jackson-Davis' 14 free throws against North Alabama were the most in a game for Indiana since Eric Gordon went 14-for-14 on Dec. 29, 2007, and the Hoosiers finished 37-for-45 from the line Tuesday.

3. Troy guard Ty Gordon is tied for the Sun Belt Conference lead in assists with 6.0 per game and has just three turnovers in 48 minutes of action.

PREDICTION: Indiana 90, Troy 64
