Gerrit Cole pitched six shutout innings and the New York Yankees used four home runs to extend their winning streak to 13 games Friday night with an 8-2 victory over the host Oakland Athletics.

Giancarlo Stanton and Luke Voit gave New York a lead it never relinquished with solo home runs in the fourth, and Aaron Judge added a three-run blast an inning later as the Yankees equaled their longest winning streak since a 13-game run in 1961.

The all-time franchise record is 19, set in 1947.

Cole (13-6) continued two personal winning streaks -- remaining unbeaten in three August starts this season and improving to 5-0 in lifetime games pitched in the San Francisco Bay Area, including three straight wins in Oakland.

The Southern California native pitched around six hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Stanton snapped a scoreless tie with a leadoff homer in the fourth, his 24th long ball of the season and fourth in the first four games of the Yankees' current trip.

His personal record for consecutive games with a homer is six, set in 2017.

Two batters later, Voit smacked his eighth homer, also off A's starter Sean Manaea (8-9), to give Cole an early two-run cushion.

Judge's homer, his 28th, came after Kyle Higashioka and DJ LeMahieu had opened the fifth with singles. The 28 homers are the second most of Judge's career, trailing only his 52 in 2017.

Manaea was pulled after Judge's homer, charged with five runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out five without walking anyone.

The A's rallied within 5-2 after Cole turned the ball over to the bullpen in the seventh, and they brought the potential tying run to the plate with one out against Chad Green.

But Oakland, which rallied from six runs down to tie Thursday's series opener before eventually losing 7-6, couldn't capitalize as Josh Harrison grounded into an inning-ending double play.

The Yankees busted the game open in the ninth, with Higashioka belting a two-run homer, his ninth, and Judge driving in his fourth run with a single.

Judge finished with three hits, while Stanton, LeMahieu, Higashioka and Anthony Rizzo added two apiece for the Yankees, who out-hit the A's 14-8.

Tony Kemp and Starling Marte each singled twice for Oakland, which lost its sixth straight.
