Liverpool aren't in good form and will come up short against Paris Saint-Germain in their first leg.

For the second consecutive season, we’re seeing PSG and Liverpool meet in the Champions League knockout stages, and this quarterfinal matchup looks like an intriguing one.

This Liverpool team is far from the one we saw win the Premier League title last season, which is why our PSG vs. Liverpool predictions are backing the Parisians to win with a one-goal spread.

Read on for my Champions League betting picks for Wednesday, April 8, with kickoff at 3:00 p.m. ET on Paramount+.

PSG vs Liverpool picks and predictions

My PSG vs Liverpool best bet: PSG -1 (+160 at Sports Interaction)

It’s been an awful season for Liverpool, who have already lost 15 games. They’re in dire form, with two wins, one draw, and four defeats in their past seven games, and they lost 4-0 to Man City in their last fixture.

Liverpool’s defense looks pedestrian, and they’ve conceded 13 goals in their past eight games.

PSG are finding form and have been scoring a ton in the Champions League.

The Parisians have 34 goals in just 12 games in the competition. They beat fellow English side Chelsea by a three-goal margin, both home and away, in the last round, and should topple Liverpool by two or more here.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia 1+ shot on target

Desire Doue 1+ shot on target

Hugo Ekitike 1+ shot on target

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has looked dangerous in the Champions League this season, and is tied for the second most shots on target in the UCL for PSG this season, with an average that works out as 1.28 per 90 minutes on the field.

Teammate Desire Doue started for PSG on Friday and will continue here, in what will only be his fifth start in the Champions League this season, with four other appearances coming from the bench. He’s scored four goals in the competition and has averaged 1.13 shots on target per 90 minutes played.

On the Liverpool side we’re taking Hugo Ekitike to have a shot on target. Ekitike has averaged 1.26 shots on target per 90 minutes played in this competition so far this season.
