Matchday 9 of the Major League Soccer season came on a short week, and it provided plenty of drama on Wednesday night with multiple high-scoring affairs.
My MLS moneyline picks now turn to Matchday 10, where some teams will be playing their third match inside a week, while others are coming in off some much-needed rest. That has led to some very juicy favorites for this weekend’s slate.
My free betting picks break down which teams should win on Matchday 10.

Toronto FC vs
Atlanta United FC
Pick: Toronto (-108)
The aforementioned drama was on full display in Toronto, when their GK Luka Gavran scored a header in the sixth minute of stoppage time to secure a draw against Philadelphia.
They’ve now drawn three in a row, but should get back to winning ways against an Atlanta side that has lost seven of its nine games and is traveling on short rest.
CF Montreal vs
New York City FC
Pick: Draw (+360)
NYCFC shipped four goals in a draw with Cincy on Wednesday, and Montreal’s coming off rest and a 4-1 thumping of the Red Bulls. I can’t back them to get a victory here, but I think they’ll manage a result.
Minnesota United FC vs
Los Angeles FC
Pick: Minnesota (+145)
LAFC isn’t getting results right now, and a massive CONCACAF Champions Cup match with Toluca looms on the horizon. That means potential rotation for a Black and Gold side that hasn’t won in four, against a Minnesota side that has won four straight. I’ll take the value here with a Minnesota victory.
Inter Miami vs
New England Revolution
Pick: Inter Miami (-256)
Inter Miami is the first of our heavily-juiced picks that I cannot recommend actually playing, but I do expect them to win. The Revs are a terrible team on the road, and the Herons badly want to get that first home win in their new stadium.
Rodrigo De Paul looked tremendous on Wednesday in the win over Real Salt Lake, and that’s key for their success.
D.C. United vs
Orlando City SC
Pick: DC United (-120)
After scoring a combined 10 goals in 16 matches, DC United and Orlando City both exploded for four goals in their matches on Wednesday. Orlando picked up a victory while DC United drew, but I don’t expect that to translate to the road for the Lions—especially considering they’ve scored one goal in four away fixtures while conceding 17.
Back the home side here.
Columbus Crew vs
Philadelphia Union
Pick: Draw (+260)
The Crew picked up an impressive 2-1 win over the Galaxy on Wednesday after scoring just one goal in their first three home fixtures. The Union are showing signs of life with a three-match unbeaten run.
The draw presents strong value given how inconsistent these sides have been.
FC Cincinnati vs
New York Red Bulls
Pick: Draw (+320)
FC Cincinnati are providing entertainment value, with their last seven matches featuring 42 goals. Granted, Cincy conceded 26 of those, but they managed two stoppage-time goals to get a 4-4 draw on Wednesday.
The Red Bulls are winless in their last three but have two draws, and I’ll back a similar result here as I cannot bet on Cincy at minus-odds.
St. Louis City SC vs
San Jose Earthquakes
Pick: San Jose (+160)
I nearly tore my Achilles running to bet this one, and it’s a two-unit play for me.
Bruce Arena is working magic with this San Jose side, and they’re thriving at both ends. St. Louis has the advantage of a week’s worth of rest, but I doubt that will matter given how much they’re struggling to generate scoring chances.
Nashville SC vs
Charlotte FC
Pick: Nashville (-154)
Charlotte’s second half capitulation to Orlando City was surprising, and it makes me wonder how they’ll respond. I do expect a little rotation given Tigres visits in CCC action on Tuesday, but a rotated Nashville beat Charlotte 2-1 just two weeks ago in the exact same situation.
Chicago Fire vs
Sporting KC
Pick: Chicago (-333)
This is another heavily-juiced pick that I wouldn’t play on its own. Both teams come in with a week of rest, and Chicago should lay waste to a Kansas City side that was outshot 27-2 by Vancouver last weekend.
Sporting has conceded at least three goals in five straight matches, including a defeat to USL Championship side Colorado Springs, while scoring just three total goals in that span.
Austin FC vs
Houston Dynamo FC
Pick: Houston (+155)
Austin got housed in the second half at San Jose on Wednesday, and are now winless in eight matches in all competitions with three points from their last 21. The Dynamo have won two straight, and haven’t conceded a goal in either match. I love getting Houston at this price given the form of these teams.
San Diego vs
Portland Timbers
Pick: Draw (+310)
And here I thought San Diego was done with the red cards. They’re not, picking up yet another in their fourth-straight defeat.
They created just one big chance against Houston despite having 72% possession. That said, I can’t back Portland to get a win on the road even with a week of rest.
I will back them to get their first away point though, especially at this price.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs
Colorado Rapids
Pick: Vancouver (-270)
Both teams come in with a week of rest, which is why I think this could be one of the best matches of the weekend. I’m not at all a fan of this price for the Whitecaps, given how well Colorado have played this season. But the Rapids have lost three of their five on the road, and Vancouver’s only slip-up at home this season came to San Jose.
Seattle Sounders vs
FC Dallas
Pick: Sounders (-159)
The Sounders got a week off and welcome a Dallas side that is winless in three with two points in that span. Seattle has also won four straight at home against Dallas, and have lost 17 with four draws in their last 21 visits to Lumen Field.
The Sounders are the better team in better form and that rest will prove vitally important.
LA Galaxy vs
Real Salt Lake
Pick: Real Salt Lake (+187)
The Galaxy showed just how desperately they need Joao Klauss in their loss at Columbus this week, creating just one big chance in the match. Their winless streak will run to four matches when they host Real Salt Lake, whose run of form has been quite impressive behind the play of Zavier Gozo and Diego Luna.
