Michael Olise has been France’s setup man all tournament, and Tom Oldfield is backing him to connect with Kylian Mbappe again in Thursday’s World Cup quarterfinal against Morocco.

Ever since the World Cup draw, France and Morocco have seemed to be on a quarterfinal collision course, and these powerhouse squads square off on Thursday at Foxborough.

Both teams look stronger than when France edged their 2022 World Cup semifinal showdown, and my World Cup picks are locked in on the props market for this rematch, including a wager on Kylian Mbappe continuing his red-hot scoring form.

Read on for my France vs. Morocco props and goal scorer picks for this high-stakes July 9 battle.

My France vs Morocco props and goal scorer predictions

France Kylian Mbappe anytime goal scorer

Kalshi probability: 55%

The ultra-compelling Golden Boot race could go right to the wire, just as it did in 2022, and Kylian Mbappe starts the day one goal behind Lionel Messi.

Mbappe has found the net in four of Les Bleus’ five games so far, and it’s hard to look past the French captain as an anytime goal scorer pick on Thursday. He’s racked up four shots on target in each of his last three outings and continues to benefit from a sparkling cast of midfield creators.

This free-flowing French attack was stifled against Paraguay in the Round of 16, but they’ve still found the net 14 times at this World Cup, with an average xG of 2.14. Mbappe is a big reason for that, and his penalty-taking responsibilities are another reason to like this prop, with Morocco likely to be pressed into some desperate defending here.

Morocco Brahim Diaz anytime goal scorer

Kalshi probability: 15%

Ismael Saibari’s hamstring injury feels like a hammer blow for Morocco and it’s unlikely that he’ll play a prominent role in this quarterfinal. I’m not sold on fellow striker Soufiane Rahimi as a goal threat against a solid France defense, so Brahim Diaz jumps out as a value anytime scorer pick for the Atlas Lions.

Diaz scored five times during the Africa Cup of Nations back in December and January, and he’ll be a key counterattacking threat here, as well as a primary option for free-kicks within shooting range.

He’s still looking for his first goal at this World Cup, but he’s been at the heart of Morocco’s best moves — four assists at the tournament — and would be a contender for spot-kick duties, too.

France Michael Olise anytime assist

Kalshi probability: 31%

You can debate whether Bradley Barcola or Desire Doue deserve the starting nod for France, but no one is questioning Michael Olise’s role in the French attack. With five assists already at this World Cup, he’s built a deadly connection with Mbappe, and I love this price for another timely setup from Olise here.

A stubborn Morocco defense shut out Canada in the last round, and France will need a creative spark to unlock this well-drilled opponent. Enter Olise, whose ability to roam infield and angle through balls could be the difference in Boston, unlocking the speed in Didier Deschamps’ lineup.

Olise, who piled up 19 assists for Bayern Munich last season, also takes a share of the French corners, where William Saliba and Dayot Upamecano are good aerial targets.
