Premier League predictions for Liverpool vs Bournemouth

My Liverpool vs Bournemouth best bet: Over 3.5 goals (-108 at Betano)

Liverpool’s summer signings Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong are all set to make their Premier League debuts on Friday evening.

It’s a special night for Kerkez, who joined from Bournemouth for €47 million. He’s the third priciest Liverpool signing this summer, behind Wirtz (€125M from Leverkusen) and Ekitike (€80M from Eintracht Frankfurt). Frimpong completes the “quadruple” of big arrivals with his €40 million move from Leverkusen.

One third of Liverpool’s starting XI has changed from last season, adding skill, pace, and attacking firepower. Bournemouth, meanwhile, lost key defenders including Kerkez, Dean Huijsen (€62.5M to Real Madrid), and Ilya Zabarnyi (€63M to PSG).

Historically, Liverpool dominate this fixture. They’ve won 12 of their last 13 meetings, with 11 victories covering both half-time and full-time. Goals fly in when these teams meet: Liverpool have scored at least twice in 15 of their last 16 clashes against Bournemouth.

With attacking talent on display and defensive gaps in Bournemouth’s lineup, the game is primed for goals. At -108 via Betano, the over 3.5 goals looks like the smart play for the first Premier League night of the 2025-26 season.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 3.5 goals

Over 10.5 corners

Mo Salah to score

Florian Wirtz to score or assist

Both sets of defenders and the keepers behind them should be tested in this game, so the probability of corners will be high.

Salah hit the net on 29 occasions in 38 games in Liverpool's title-winning campaign, so he'll look to start in style against Bournemouth. Many Liverpool fans and neutrals alike want to see Florian Wirtz in action. Liverpool beat their transfer record to sign Wirtz for €125 million. Luiz Diaz left for Bayern Munich, while Darwin Nunez signed for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

The tragic death of Diogo Jota hit Liverpool hard, but Arne Slot's players say they are hungrier for glory than ever to honor the memory of their Portuguese teammate and friend. Wirtz is expected to take centre stage, so I'll include him in my parlay as a goal contributor, either through a goal or an assist.
