The Story of Ernie Davis former Syracuse  Half back who won the Heisman Trophy in 1961 and led the Orangemen to the 1960 Championship over Texas.

Drafted by the Browns in 1962 but never played a down because of Leukemia.

Really enjoyed it and a must for Football fans.

saw it the other night. was a great movie for either football fans or those interested in civil rights history. Dennis Quaid as Syracuse coach Ben Schwartzwalder is the best part he's played since Gordon Cooper in "The Right Stuff"

IF you liked the historical aspect of the movie you might also like "The Great Debaters" with Denzel Washington, Forest Whitaker and Denzel Whitaker (no relation to Forrest)

btw, BEST line in The Expess is during the Cotten Bowl game when Texas tackle Clay Taylor is slinging racial shit at black Syracuse tackle Jack Buckley on the line of scrimmage. he then looks at Syracuse center Maury Youmans and says "how can you call yourself a white, christian man?" to which Maury replys "I'm Jewish"
