The Inaugural Workday Charity Open replaced the John Deere Classic on the PGA Tour in 2020. The golf betting odds featured a lighter field than normal, but there was plenty of action for the first of two consecutive events held at Muirfield Village in Ohio from July 9-12.
This second leg of the Muirfield doubleheader, The Memorial Tournament, was expected to have a much deeper field on July 16-19.
Here were the PGA Tour odds to win the Workday Charity Open for the top golfers that were in the field.
Who was the favorite to win the 2020 Workday Charity Open?
Justin Thomas (+1,000) topped the early board as the Workday Charity Open favorite, entering the tournament as the World's fourth-ranked golfer. Behind Thomas were Patrick Cantlay and Jon Rahm, both tied at +1,300, while Brooks Koepka, Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele rounded out the odds board in a three-way tie at +1,700.
Bettors that backed the favorite looked to be in a great position to cash on Sunday, as Thomas held a three-stroke lead with three holes to go. But after Thomas bogeyed 16 and 18, coupled with a Collin Morikawa birdie on 17, the players engaged in a thrilling three-hole playoff, where Morikawa ultimately prevailed.

How To Bet On PGA Tour Odds
The most popular way to bet on golf is by simply picking the winner, which is also referred to as outright. There are plenty of other ways to wager, however. Some of the more popular markets include head-to-head betting, where sportsbooks pair up two golfers and you simply choose who you think will have the lower score over the course of the weekend or for one round only.
There are also 3-way betting markets (choose the best golfer among three choices) and group betting (choose the best golfer amongst a group of players).
Other ways to wager include Top-5/Top-10/Top-20 finish, top golfer by nationality, to make the cut/to not make the cut, and the leader after each round. Then, of course, there's the popular prop bet of whether or not there will be a hole in one at the tournament.
