Our Valero Texas Open picks target Keith Mitchell, Denny McCarthy, and more at TPC San Antonio.

The PGA Tour makes its last stop in San Antonio before heading off to Augusta National for the Masters.

Atop the Valero Texas Open odds are Ludvig Aberg and Tommy Fleetwood, but my golf picks are looking further down the board in a tournament that's seen plenty of long-shot winners in recent years.

Valero Texas Open sleeper predictions

Sleeper pick to win: Keith Mitchell
+3000 at BetMGM

Keith Mitchell is coming off a T14 result at the Houston Open, where he ranked second in the field in true strokes gained off the tee and 12th from tee to green. He ranks ninth off the tee for the season, and that tee game will help him generate scoring chances at TPC San Antonio.

That bears out in his Texas Open history, too. He's improved his finish each time he's come here, with the latest being a T12 in 2025, and he's gained strokes off the tee and on approach in all four career tries.

Sleeper pick to win: Denny McCarthy
+3300 at BetMGM

Denny McCarthy's strength is not his driver, and yet, he's had plenty of success at this track. He's logged four Top 20s in six career starts, including a career-best runner-up finish in 2024.

His 2026 season has been uninspiring thus far, but he is coming off a T12 finish in Houston and finished strong with rounds of 67 and 66 on the weekend.

Sleeper pick to win: Ryo Hisatsune
+4000 at BetMGM

Ryo Hisatsune may not have a PGA Tour win to his name, but he has a similar profile to Mitchell in that he ranks 15th off the tee and is 27th in driving accuracy.

Last year's T5 finish, where he ranked fourth off the tee, complements the fact he's already had some big results this season: T13 at THE PLAYERS, T8 at Pebble Beach, T10 in Phoenix, and a runner-up at the Farmers.
