The Edmonton Oilers will look to make it three consecutive wins by topping the struggling Buffalo Sabres at Rogers Place on Tuesday, December 9.

Buffalo has dropped three straight to start a six-game road trip, and my Sabres vs. Oilers predictions call for Edmonton superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to lead the way to another convincing win tonight.

Sabres vs Oilers prediction

Sabres vs Oilers Best bet: Oilers -1.5 (+117)

The Edmonton Oilers have won consecutive home games while piling up 15 goals, and after playing 16 of their first 24 on the highway, a little stint at Rogers Place was just what the reigning Western Conference champs needed.

This is another winnable game for the Oil, too.

The Buffalo Sabres have dropped the first three stops of their current six-game road trip while allowing 16 total goals, and the Sabres are also playing for the second consecutive night after losing 7-4 to the Calgary Flames on Monday.

Serving up a seven spot to Calgary is all the more notable given the Flames are tied for the fewest goals per game in the league, including scoring the fourth-fewest per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.

Edmonton is also 7-3-2 on home ice, and No. 1 goalie Stuart Skinner is turning his season around with a .958 SV% with 5.76 goals saved above expected across his past three starts.

Add superstars Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl filling up the scoresheet to the tune of a top-ranked 5.18 points per 60 minutes and fourth-ranked 4.39 mark at home over the prior three seasons, and I’m anticipating Edmonton pulling away from Buffalo for a third consecutive statement win.

Sabres vs Oilers same-game parlay

McDavid has recorded multiple points in six of 12 home games this season and lands in the highlighted cushy matchup tonight. He’s logging huge minutes, too, with an average of 22:39 per game — including 3:06 with the man advantage.

Turning to Draisaitl, he’s recorded three or more shots in eight of his past 11 games. As noted, Buffalo is reeling defensively, and the Sabres have surrendered a healthy 28.7 shots per game during the highlighted three-game losing streak on the highway.
