Kyle Connor was born in Michigan and always seems to have his best for his hometown team.

My Red Wings vs. Jets predictions expect his success against Detroit to continue, with Connor finding the back of the net in this out-of-conference clash.

Let’s take a closer look at my NHL picks for Saturday, January 24.

Red Wings vs Jets prediction

Red Wings vs Jets best bet: Kyle Connor anytime goalscorer (+140)

Kyle Connor is having another strong scoring season, pacing for close to 40 goals over 82 games.

He has found the back of the net more consistently in Winnipeg, where he’s able to get a little extra ice time against the opposing team’s top defensive personnel.

Connor has scored in 42% of his home games compared to 33% on the road.

Getting extra ice away from likely Norris candidate Moritz Seider should be very beneficial. He has allowed just 1.99 goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5, the best mark among Red Wings regulars.

They are conceding 0.72 fewer goals per 60 with Seider on the ice than without.

Connor should see less of Seider in Winnipeg than he would if Todd McLellan could control the matchups in Detroit.

It’s a solid power play matchup for Connor as well. The Detroit Red Wings rank Bottom-10 in preventing shots, expected goals, and goals on the kill over the past 10 games.

Nearly half of Connor’s goals have come from the slot, where the Red Wings sit 30th in shots allowed spanning their last 10.

Connor also has an awesome history against Detroit. He has found the back of the net eight times over his past 12 head-to-head matchups.

Red Wings vs Jets same-game parlay

Mark Scheifele centers Connor at 5-on-5 and on the power play. If Connor scores, there’s a good chance Scheifele played a part in helping get the puck on his stick.

Josh Morrissey has registered multiple shots in four of his past five games. The Red Wings have conceded the 4th-most shots to defensemen the past 10, so he should get a few looks again in this one.

Red Wings vs Jets SGP

  • Kyle Connor anytime goalscorer
  • Mark Scheifele Over 0.5 assists
  • Josh Morrissey Over 1.5 shots
