Our best NHL player props for Sunday, November 16
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Noah Hanifin Over 1.5 shots on goal
Noah Hanifin has shot the lights out this season. He has averaged 2.9 shots on 7.3 attempts and recorded 3+ shots on target in five of his seven games.
He’s generated very consistent volume along the way. Hanifin fired at least five pucks towards the net in six of seven. For reference, he cleared this line at an 86% clip last season when reaching that mark — and it’s looked more like a floor than ceiling this year.
The shots should continue to be there in bulk Sunday evening. The Wild have allowed the third-most shots per game to defensemen over the last 10 games and are dealing with injuries to Marco Rossi and Vladimir Tarasenko, taking a good bite out of their lineup.
The Wild gave up plenty of shots to blueliners last season, too, and Hanifin recorded multiple shots in four of the last five he played against them in the spring.

Prop #2: Joel Eriksson Ek Over 0.5 points
Wild center Marco Rossi is out for a matter of weeks due to injury. That means more opportunity for Joel Eriksson Ek, who has averaged 19 minutes per game with Rossi in the lineup and more than 22 — albeit over just two contests — without Rossi in the mix.
Eriksson Ek hit the scoresheet in both games sans Rossi, which came against quality opponents in the Rangers and Ducks. The former sits tied for second in goals against while the latter currently sits atop the Pacific Division.
Although the Golden Knights are a quality opponent, they’re dealing with key injuries as well. Mark Stone, William Karlsson, and Adin Hill are all sidelined.
With Hill out of the fold, and the Golden Knights having played on Saturday, they’re expected to start Carl Lindblom in goal.
He is 0-4 with an .869 save percentage and has not performed well by Goals Saved Above Expected. He is more likely to highlight mistakes in front of him than mask them, giving Eriksson Ek — who will see an increased workload — more chances to pick up a point.

Prop #3: Cale Makar anytime goal
Cale Makar has generated drastically more volume when playing at home. He’s produced 5.3 attempts per game on the road compared to more than 9.0 in Colorado.
He’s at home today and working on two days' rest, which is a scary thought for someone who skates so well and plays so many minutes.
Makar has played four games this season following two off days. He scored in three of them.
He should have plenty of opportunity to find the net on Sunday as the Islanders rank 26th in expected goals against a 5-on-5, 28th on the penalty kill, and have allowed the sixth-most shots to defensemen over the last 10 games.
