Panthers vs Maple Leafs Props & Best Bets for Tonight

Taking care of home ice is no problem for these teams and as the series turns back to Toronto, the Maple Leafs would love keep that sentiment going in Game 5 against the Florida Panthers.

All eyes will be on Game 5 between the Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs with the two teams tied 2-2 and set to break the deadlock at the Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday, May 14.

The two teams have both taken care of business on home ice to start Round 2, and I’ve got you covered for Game 3 with my top NHL picks and Panthers vs. Maple Leafs props.

Best Panthers vs Maple Leafs props

  • Maple Leafs Matthews anytime goalscorer (+155)
  • Panthers Bobrovsky Over 22.5 saves (-133)
  • Panthers Forsling Over 1.5 blocked shots (+115)

Panthers vs Maple Leafs player props for May 14

Maple Leafs Auston Matthews anytime goalscorer (+155 at Sports Interaction)

There’s a lot of noise surrounding Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews. He’s yet to score in Round 2, and he’s been limited to just two goals through 10 postseason contests.

It hasn’t been for lack of opportunities, though.

Matthews paces the Maple Leafs with 35 shots, 75 attempts, 25 individual high-danger scoring chances and 5.73 individual expected goals. And, for perspective, the 25 iHDCF rank third this postseason and the 5.73 ixG are second.

No. 34 isn’t going to maintain a 5.7 shooting percentage much longer given the consistent high-end looks he’s generating.

Panthers Sergei Bobrovsky Over 22.5 saves (-133 at Sports Interaction)

The Toronto Maple Leafs have averaged 26.0 shots per game in Round 2, and Florida Panthers netminder Sergei Bobrovsky has stopped 50 of 54 the past two games, including all 23 during the 2-0 Game 4 shutout.

Bobrvosky also has 2.6 goals saved above expected to go along with his .926 save percentage during the consecutive Cats wins.

Following the two losses, look for the Maple Leafs to prioritize shots on net and have more success tilting the ice in their favor for longer stretches at home Wednesday, too.

Panthers Gustav Forsling Over 1.5 blocked shots (+115 at Sports Interaction)

Florida Panthers defenseman Gustav Forsling paces the club with 17 blocked shots through nine postseason games, while also leading the way in defensive-zone starts and defensive-zone faceoffs. The veteran Swede has also logged a team-high 4:12 on shorthanded time per night.

As noted, I’m anticipating the Maple Leafs looking to push the pace and put more pucks on net in Game 5, and Forsling has blocked five shots across the past two games.
