Oilers vs Hurricanes Best bet: Edmonton Oilers moneyline (+105)
The Carolina Hurricanes have struggled to keep the puck out of late. They have allowed at least three goals in five straight games, none of which came against teams holding down playoff spots.
Carolina’s struggles should be no surprise given they’re dealing with multiple injuries on the backend, most notably to Jaccob Slavin.
Life won’t get any easier for them on Saturday night. The Hurricanes will be facing off against an Edmonton Oilers team that sits tied for 8th in goals scored this season despite not playing their best hockey.
Not to mention, the Oilers have been without Zach Hyman all season. He is one of their most reliable producers and will make his season debut in this game.
Slowing down the likes of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Evan Bouchard and Hyman without their best shutdown defenseman will be a big challenge for the Hurricanes – even more so in a back-to-back situation.
Look for Edmonton’s offense to power them to a bounce-back victory.
Oilers vs Hurricanes same-game parlay
Hyman will reclaim his spot on the top line with McDavid as well as the net-front presence on a lethal power play. No. 97 will surely be thrilled to reunite with his usual running mate and set him up whenever possible.
The Hurricanes sit 25th in expected goals allowed over the last 10, and have spent five minutes per game shorthanded, so Hyman and McDavid should have plenty of chances to work their magic.
