Jets vs Stars Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today's NHL Playoffs Game 4

Jake Oettinger has outplayed Connor Hellebuyck, but this series has been well-played defensively and between the pipes for both the Jets and Stars. That continues in Game 4.

The Winnipeg Jets will look to even their Round 2 series against the Dallas Stars with a road victory at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday, May 13.

Dallas has been playing great defense to start the series, and my Jets vs. Stars predictions are calling for a low-scoring game and improvement from Winnipeg goalie Connor Hellebuyck on the road.

Let's dive in further with my NHL picks for this crucial Game 4.

Who will win Jets vs Stars Game 4?

The Dallas Stars will win.

The Winnipeg Jets haven’t been able to generate consistent offense against the Stars, and Jake Oettinger has outplayed Connor Hellebuyck

I also value the scoring depth Dallas has jumping the boards in addition to the Stars winning the expected goals battle with a 62.0% mark at 5-on-5.

Jets vs Stars prediction

My Jets vs Stars pick: Under 5.5 (+105 at BET99)

The Stars have held the Jets to just 4.79 expected goals at 5-on-5 and only 2.06 per 60 minutes through the first three Round 2 games, and both Games 1 and 2 went Under the number.

It’s been an impressive turn of events for Dallas after allowing 3.33 expected goals per 60 at 5-on-5 to the Colorado Avalanche in Round 1.

Goaltending continues to be a hot topic for the Jets, with Hellebuyck allowing a postseason-high 9.71 goals below expected. I still believe there’s improvement coming, though.

Hellebuyck’s track record is long enough, and he did turn away all 17 shots with 1.72 goals saved above expected to blank the Stars in Game 2.

This has the makings of a back-and-forth series, and the Jets were the best defensive team in the league during the regular season. Hellebuyck played a huge part with a .925 save percentage, too, so him sporting an .848 mark through 10 playoff games is definitely surprising.

I expect Hellebuyck to do his part, and the Stars to continue limiting the Jets to cash the Under in Game 4.

Jets vs Stars same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 5.5

Mikko Rantanen Over 2.5 shots on goal

Nikolaj Ehlers Over 2.5 shots on goal

After recording three or more shots in six of eight games to start the postseason, Dallas winger Mikko Rantanen has recorded just three total over the past two contests. He’s registered nine attempts, though, so the volume is there.

I expect him to convert his attempts into shots more efficiently tonight.

Winnipeg winger Nikolaj Ehlers has also been padding the shots column with three or more in four of his five postseason games while pacing the Jets in both shots and attempts per 60 minutes during the stretch.

Additionally, pairing two Overs in the shots market with an Under game total is a nice multiplier for this same-game parlay.
