The Calgary Flames head to Enterprise Center to face the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, November 11, and both teams could use a tally in the wins column after slow starts to the year.

Flames vs Blues prediction

Flames vs Blues Best bet: Morgan Frost Over 1.5 shots on goal (+100)

The Calgary Flames are giving center Morgan Frost a true look in an offensive role this season, and the 26-year-old center has been largely up to the challenge.

Frost has driven 5-on-5 possession with a 55.4 Corsi For percentage while also posting a rock-solid 55.8 expected goals percentage. His shot volume has also been up, and he’s recorded two or more shots in seven of his past 11 games for 21 total on 29 attempts.

A key for Frost has been centering winger Jonathan Huberdeau, with the duo combining for a 56.7 CF%, 63.5% shot share, and 57.2 xGF% at 5-on-5.

Frost is also jumping the boards with the No. 1 power-play unit, and he’s taken 70.9% of his faceoffs in the offensive zone, so I expect him to have enough opportunities tonight to pick up two or more shots against the St. Louis Blues.

Flames vs Blues same-game parlay

The Flames haven’t scored in two games, and they’ve averaged the fewest goals per game for the campaign (2.06). It hasn’t been markedly better for the Blues, either. St. Louis has averaged the ninth-fewest goals per game (2.75).

I’m expecting a low-scoring game tonight, with the Flames keeping it close.

Calgary ranks fourth in CF% and seventh in xGF% at 5-on-5, and No. 1 goalie Dustin Wolf is beginning to find top form with a .913 SV% and 2.67 GAA across his past nine games.
