Montreal Canadiens defenseman and reigning Calder Trophy winner Lane Hutson has collected 13 assists in 17 games this season, second on the team behind Nick Suzuki.
Hutson has nine helpers in his last 10 games and has averaged an impressive 0.74 assists per game through his young career thus far.
Additionally, the Boston Bruins rank 24th in goals allowed and 25th in shots allowed, and they have struggled defensively so far this season. Apart from the ugly 7-0 loss on Thursday, Hutson has played over 22 minutes in every game since October 22.
His role on the team's top power-play unit bodes well against Boston's 16th-ranked penalty kill. The Bruins also rank 27th in penalties taken, so I expect Hutson to receive ample opportunity to get onto the scoresheet tonight.
