Spencer Knight has been a major reason why the Blackhawks rarely get blown out, and that will hold true against a tough Golden Knights team tonight.

The Vegas Golden Knights host the Chicago Blackhawks in the late window of Tuesday’s NHL slate.

Chicago has covered the puck line in nine of its past 10 games, and my Blackhawks vs. Golden Knights predictions expect this trend to continue.

Read on for my NHL picks for Tuesday, December 2.

Blackhawks vs Golden Knights prediction

Blackhawks vs Golden Knights Best bet: Blackhawks +1.5 (-110)

The Chicago Blackhawks stay close in nearly every game, a trend that largely exists because of the play of goaltender Spencer Knight.

Making a strong case for a roster spot at the 2026 Olympics, Knight also possesses the fourth-shortest number in Vezina Trophy odds this season. Through 17 starts, Knight boasts a commanding .918 save percentage and 2.51 goals-against average. He also ranks third in goals saved above expected.

Meanwhile, a much bigger question mark exists across the ice, as goaltender Carter Hart is expected to make his return to hockey. Hart, who was acquitted following sexual assault allegations, missed all of last season, and the extended absence could lead to some poor performances as he attempts to get back up to the pace of an NHL game.

Hart underwent a conditioning stint in the AHL to prepare for his return, and it went poorly. Across three starts, Hart went 1-2 with a .839 save percentage and 3.07 goals-against average.

Given the extended absence and those poor performances, it would be shocking if he immediately figured things out in his first NHL start in 22 months.

Blackhawks vs Golden Knights same-game parlay

Aside from Knight, the other primary reason for Chicago’s close games has been the play of star forward Connor Bedard. He enters this matchup ranked third in the league in points, a product of his scoring ability and willingness to shoot the puck.

Bedard has scored 14 goals over the past 17 games and is averaging 3.71 shots on goal over that stretch.
