We have an enthralling Game 7 on Saturday, with the Dallas Stars hosting the Colorado Avalanche at the American Airlines Center.

Following Colorado’s 7-4 win in Game 6, my Avalanche vs. Stars same-game parlay (SGP) expects the Avs to light the lamp early and often once again.

Read on for my NHL picks for Saturday, May 3.

Today's best Avalanche vs Stars same-game parlay: May 3

Avalanche team total Over 2.5

Nathan MacKinnon to score

Artturi Lehkonen to score

Pick #1: Avalanche team total Over 2.5

The Colorado Avalanche have scored three or more goals in four of the first six games of this series, a trend likely to continue in Game 7 for multiple reasons.

First, the Dallas Stars bleed high-danger scoring chances at a high rate. Since defenseman Miro Heiskanen went down with an injury in late January, Dallas ranks last in the league in expected goals against per 60 minutes (xGA/60).

During that stretch, goaltender Jake Oettinger has struggled to compensate for the Stars’ defensive lapses. He has allowed three or more goals in seven of his past nine starts, posting a 3-6 record with an .890 save percentage and a 3.69 goals-against average.

Pick #2: Nathan MacKinnon to score

If we’re backing Colorado to score three or more goals, then it’s highly likely that forward Nathan MacKinnon will be involved. MacKinnon has scored six goals over the first six games of this series.

He has also consistently elevated his play in the postseason. Over the past six years, MacKinnon has tallied 43 goals through 69 playoff games.

Pick #3: Artturi Lehkonen to score

MacKinnon likely won’t be the only goal scorer for Colorado if the team is to reach the three-goal mark. A strong secondary option is forward Artturi Lehkonen, who skates alongside MacKinnon on both the first line and the top power play unit.

Lehkonen and MacKinnon have both scored in each of the past two games, including Colorado’s 7-4 win in Game 6. With Dallas reeling from injuries, Oettinger struggling, and the Avalanche’s offense heating up, it wouldn’t be surprising if

Lehkonen and MacKinnon help the Avs repeat their Game 6 performance.
