The TCU Horned Frogs face off against the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rady Children's Invitational Championship game on Friday, November 28.
The Horned Frogs are coming off a massive win against the defending champion Florida Gators but my Wisconsin vs. TCU predictions think that this will be a tough matchup for them.
Here are my best college basketball picks for this November 28 clash, with tipoff at 5:30 E.T. from the Jenny Craig Pavilion in San Diego.
Wisconsin vs TCU prediction
Wisconsin vs TCU best bet: Wisconsin -6.5 (-110)
The Wisconsin Badgers cruised to a 104-83 win against Providence in the first round of the Rady Children's Invitational yesterday. That allowed them to bounce back from an ugly 28-point loss to No. 9 BYU in Salt Lake City last weekend.
Prior to that defeat, Wisconsin began it's season with four-straight blowout wins against weak mid-major foes.
The TCU Horned Frogs upset No. 10 Florida last night, beating them in 84-80 thriller. The key to their victory was forcing 19 turnovers, and they now rank 10th in the country in opponent turnover rate (23.1%).
They rely on that ball pressure to win games, but I doubt they'll be able to force many turnovers against Wisconsin's experienced backcourt.
That backcourt is led by Nick Boyd (22.0 points and 3.1 assists per game) and John Blackwell (17.2 ppg, 40.5 3PT%) who have helped the Badgers rank 17th in the country in adjusted offense and 16th in turnover rate (13.1%).
Wisconsin has always played tough defense during the Greg Gard era, and this squad is no different. With center Nolan Winter (15.0 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 1.3 bpg) protecting the rim, Wisconsin is in the Top-25 in defensive rebounding rate and the Top 50 in block rate.
The defensive weakness of the Badgers is their inability to close out perimeter shooters. However, the Horned Frogs shoot exceptionally poorly from deep.
They went just 4-for-17 from the arc last night and shot a combined 10 of 51 from deep in losses to Michigan and lowly New Orleans. TCU lacks offensive firepower with David Punch leading the school in scoring with a modest 12.0 ppg.
With Wisconsin taking care of the ball and TCU unable to knock down shots from deep, back the Badgers to cover this spread.

Wisconsin vs TCU same-game parlay
Since we're already betting on the Badgers to cover the full game spread, lets also back them on the first half spread which they've covered in 22 of thier last 36 games.
The total has ticked up from 154 to 155.5 but I'm going against the line movement. Both of these schools have the ability to adjust to the tempo of the teams they face. It just so happens that they've played against a lot of fast-paced opponents this season. However, these coaches generally prefer to run their offenses at a slower pace than what we've seen so far.
When you also factor in the tired legs from playing last night and the fact that TCU is significantly better on defense than offense, the Under is the play.
