Looking to stay up late and catch some college hoops action? Look no further than Wednesday’s nightcap between the UCLA Bruins and Oregon Ducks, airing at 11:00 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
The Bruins are finally streaking, winning four of their last five, and will look to avoid a letdown in Eugene against a hapless Ducks squad.
See why I’m backing the Bruins to stay hot with my UCLA vs. Oregon predictions and college basketball picks below.
UCLA vs Oregon prediction
UCLA vs Oregon best bet: UCLA -4.5 (-110)
It hasn’t always been pretty for the UCLA Bruins. Check the headlines after any given game, and the likelihood is that you’ll catch someone bashing Mick Cronin, or Cronin himself disparaging the very same roster that he assembled.
The thing is, the sentiment around Cronin programs is usually negative because pundits simply don’t like the guy very much. That can lead to some value in the market on his teams when public consensus turns extra cold. While it’s true that he did a questionable job assembling this roster, it’s still a talented bunch, and he currently has them playing their best basketball of the season.
UCLA is 4-1 in its last five games, most notably toppling No. 12 Purdue 69-67. Prized portal acquisition Donovan Dent rounded into form with his best showing of the year, scoring 23 points on 10-for-18 from the field while dishing out 13 assists and notching four steals + blocks. The rest of the roster is coming together, especially with Trent Perry scoring double digits in seven of his last nine games to emerge as a key stalwart of the lineup.
The Oregon Ducks dropped six games in a row to move to 1-8 in Big Ten play, and have covered the spread just once since January 5. They’ll be down to eight scholarship players and will be missing three starters who rank among the top four on the team in BPR.
Give me UCLA to stay hot against an ailing Ducks squad.

UCLA vs Oregon same-game parlay
Things haven’t gone quite according to plan for Dent in Westwood, but he’s still one of the best point guards in the country. The New Mexico transfer is starting to find his groove, averaging 7.3 assists across his last six contests. He’s the straw that stirs the drink, and he’s the key to a successful UCLA road trip to Eugene.
The Ducks will struggle to score without three of their top four scorers: Nate Bittle (16.3 ppg), Jackson Shelstad (15.6), and Takai Simpkins (12.4). They account for 44.3 ppg, which is difficult for any team to replace — let alone one that already ranked outside the Top 100 in adjusted efficiency.
