"We took a decent pop on Memphis," BetMGM Nevada's Randy Madayag said. The total ticked from 138.5 to 138, with tickets 3/1 on the Under and a much larger share of money on the Under. So the book needs 'dog and Over.

Against the spread (ATS) pick
In guards Isaiah Stevens and David Roddy, Colorado State’s backcourt can hang with anybody in this tournament — and probably would have done just fine in the NCAA Tournament, too. Stevens is a 41.7 percent 3-point shooter, capable of getting hot on any given night. He’s also a solid passer, as evidenced by his 5.4 assists per game. If he can avoid turning the ball over at a high rate, the Rams will have a chance at taking the Tigers down in this one. Meanwhile, Roddy is an absolute bruiser at his position. He has the sheer force of a power forward, but he moves well. Memphis hasn’t seen a player like him all year, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he has a huge night.
Defensively, the Rams are more than equipped to slow down the Tigers. Memphis does its work with a balanced attack, as the team has five players that average at least 9.3 points per game. However, the Tigers don’t have anybody that averages more than 12.7, and that can be an issue in a tournament like this. Penny Hardaway’s team doesn’t have a go-to scorer, and that’s going to come into play at some point. It was a big reason that the team didn’t end up having an NCAA Tournament season, as the offense was never able to play at a high enough level to support the nation’s best defense.
The Rams are getting a good amount of points in this game. They also are a decent moneyline play.
PREDICTION: Colorado State +4.0 (-110)
Over/Under pick
This season, Memphis had the best adjusted defensive efficiency in the nation (according to KenPom.com). That’s a telling statistic about the way this group plays defense, and Colorado State is also a defensive-minded team. With that said, this total is definitely a bit higher than you’d expect. However, despite the fact that it might seem too good to be true to hop on this Under, it’s still the right play.
Each of Memphis’ last two games failed to hit this number, and the same can be said for three of Colorado State’s last four. On top of that, there should also be some nerves this late in the tournament.
