Our 3 best MLB player props for Friday, July 4
Andrew Abbott Under 2.5 earned runs (-114 at Caesars)
Andrew Abbott has undoubtedly emerged as the ace of this Cincinnati Reds rotation. The righty is having a career year, going 7-1 in 14 starts with a stellar 1.79 ERA. Every week, he’s putting his best foot forward for Cincinnati, with opponents batting just .203 against him.
Abbott was brilliant in June, posting a 2.20 ERA across five starts. He’s cashed the Under in earned runs allowed in four consecutive appearances, giving up just one run in each of his last three outings. He held a very good San Diego Padres lineup to one run last time out in five innings of work.
He’ll be up against another strong offense this afternoon as Abbott faces the Philadelphia Phillies. However, he’s had success versus Philadelphia in the past, limiting them to a .172 average across 29 at-bats. He’s pitched even better on the road as well, compiling a 1.42 ERA in six starts. This is a great way to kick off today's MLB picks.

Juan Soto Over 0.5 RBIs (+155 at DraftKings)
After a sluggish start to the season following his mammoth $765 million deal, Juan Soto is finally coming alive for the New York Mets. Soto just hit .322 in June with 11 home runs and 20 RBIs. Ridiculous numbers considering he had just 90 at-bats.
He’s up to 48 RBIs on the year, and the slugger will have a chance at another revenge game this afternoon in the Subway Series against the New York Yankees. Soto has an impressive track record against Marcus Stroman, who the Yanks send to the mound in the series opener. He’s 3 for 10 lifetime with three RBIs.
Although Soto has only cashed the Over in RBIs in three of his last six appearances, he has found his confidence again and having Stroman on the bump should help Soto produce today. Plus, he did virtually nothing in the first Subway Series of the season – I expect him to bounce back. There’s no better time than today.

Bryan Woo Over 6.5 strikeouts (+122 at FanDuel)
The Seattle Mariners have had issues with their starting pitching in 2025, but Bryan Woo continues to be one of the staff’s more consistent arms. He’s gone 7-4 with a 2.93 ERA, striking out 96 hitters in 101.1 innings of work.
Although Woo doesn’t usually strike out a ton of hitters each outing, he’s on a heater at the moment. The right-hander has racked up nine punchouts in each of his last two appearances against the Texas Rangers and Minnesota Twins, respectively.
There’s reason to believe he could keep it rolling today. The M’s face the Pittburgh Pirates, who rank in the Top 10 in strikeouts. He’s also pitching at home here, where Woo has a 2.08 ERA, racking up 33 Ks in 39 frames.
