Mariners vs Blue Jays Prop Picks & Best Bets for ALCS Game 2

Julio Rodriguez had a monstrous second half and consistently did damage against right-handed pitching, especially in road matchups. He'll cause problems for Trey Yesavage and the Blue Jays bullpen tonight.

The Toronto Blue Jays laid an egg in Game 1 against the Seattle Mariners, recording just one hit after George Springer’s leadoff homer.

Win or lose, I’m expecting their key bats to step up this time around. Let’s take a closer look at three MLB player props — two of them Blue Jays — worth backing with my MLB picks and Mariners vs. Blue Jays predictions on Monday, October 13.

Mariners vs Blue Jays Game 2 props

Player BetMGM
Blue Jays Kirk Over 0.5 singles -118
Mariners Rodriguez Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI -125
Blue Jays Guerrero Over 0.5 singles -115

Mariners vs Blue Jays player prop picks

Prop #1: Alejandro Kirk Over 0.5 singles

-118 at BetMGM

Alejandro Kirk struck out just 12.3% of the time against right-handed pitchers this season, which should serve him well against someone with elite K rates like Logan Gilbert.

Kirk posted decent power numbers, but, in part due to a lack of speed, exactly 75% of his hits vs. righties went for only one base.

After a disastrous offensive showing in the series opener, Kirk and the Toronto Blue Jays will no doubt be looking to simplify their approach and take what they can get.

Kirk hit .286 vs. fastballs this season, the highest average against anything in Gilbert’s pitching arsenal. It just so happens the four-seam is his most-used pitch.

Prop #2: Julio Rodriguez Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

-125 at BetMGM

Trey Yesavage has pitched extremely well since joining the Blue Jays rotation. While he was untouchable in his playoff start against the Yankees, he did have some difficulty getting right-handed bats out beforehand.

Righties like Julio Rodriguez quietly posted a .333 average against Yesavage during regular-season play, with lefties generating hits at less than half the rate.

Rodriguez put together an excellent second half and was much more productive on the road all season long, clearing this line in 64% of away games.

Given his combination of contact, power, speed, and more hitter-friendly park factors, he’s a real threat to do damage in Game 2.

Prop #3: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 singles

-115 at BetMGM

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a bunch of big moments against the Yankees, hitting three homers, but his bread and butter was still putting the bat on the ball and getting on base with singles.

Guerrero hit six singles over the four-game set and has nine over his past nine games, dating back to the end of the regular season.

He also has a great track record against Gilbert, hitting safely in six of 15 at-bats (.400 average).

Guerrero has also shown the ability to get back on track after a quiet showing. Only once over the past month has he gone back-to-back games without a single.

Look for him to get back on track against Gilbert and a Seattle Mariners bullpen he’s hit nearly .300 against in his career..
