Jon Metler's expert pick: Dodgers moneyline

Price: 64¢ (-178) at Polymarket

This is an all-around tough matchup for Milwaukee Brewers starter Robert Gasser, who's struggled to work deep into games and could force Pat Murphy to lean on his middle-relief arms early.

Gasser is a deceptive but low-velocity lefty who relies heavily on his slider against right-handed hitters. If he can't locate it, he's at risk of leaving sliders over the heart of the plate to a Los Angeles Dodgers lineup that has plenty of pull-side power from the right side against left-handed pitching.

The Dodgers' patience and ability to work counts give them another advantage, especially with Gasser's tendency to exit games early and Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound. The Dodgers are trading at 64 cents on Polymarket, but I have them priced closer to 67 cents, giving us an edge at the current price.

Dustin Saracini's expert pick: Cubs -1.5

Price: 46¢ (+117) at Polymarket

Matthew Liberatore of the St. Louis Cardinals didn't escape the fourth inning the last time he took the mound against the Chicago Cubs, surrendering three earned runs on eight hits while giving up a homer. I'm expecting a much better performance from the team with the highest wRC+ in baseball after yesterday's shutout.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, Nico Hoerner, and Michael Busch all own an xSLG of .464 or better in this specific matchup, and with the left-hander owning a near-career-worst 8.8% barrel rate this season, Chicago should have no problem covering here. We're seeing some value at this price.

Joe Osborne's expert pick: Rangers/A's Over 9.5

Price: 52¢ (-110) at Polymarket

Expect double-digit runs in Sacramento tonight, as this matchup gives both lineups a great opportunity to tee off.

Gage Jump has been rocked at home all season, posting a 6.16 ERA, and now faces a Texas Rangers lineup that has been respectable against left-handed pitching. Even if Jump survives early, the Athletics bullpen owns an MLB-worst 8.66 ERA over the past two weeks.

Kumar Rocker is equally difficult to trust, with each of his last six starts going Over. A’s hitters have had his number, combining for a 1.047 OPS in 37 at-bats, while 9.2 mph winds blowing out to center should only help the cause.
