The Toronto Blue Jays will look to win their first World Series in 32 years on home soil Saturday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

We’ve seen plenty of balls leave the park in what has been a riveting series thus far. Let’s take a look at a couple of players in favorable matchups to go yard with a pair of Dodgers vs. Blue Jays home run picks for Game 7.

Dodgers home run pick

Freddie Freeman (+475 at BetMGM)

Max Scherzer struggled with the longball this year, giving up more than two homers per nine innings.

Those problems surfaced again in his previous start, allowing homers to Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernandez in just 4.1 innings of work.

Scherzer has had an especially difficult time vs. left-handed bats like Freddie Freeman, conceding 2.5 homers per nine innings and an ISO approaching .300.

Freeman is no stranger to the big stage and has homered against Scherzer three times during his major league career.

Also working in Freeman’s favor is Scherzer’s reliance on the fastball. It is by far his most used pitch against lefties, and Freeman homered seven times with just a 13% K rate against right-handed fastballs this year.

Blue Jays home run pick

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+340 at BetMGM)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has homered eight times during his magical playoff run and is showing no signs of slowing down.

He’s hit a homer in two of his past three games and has drilled four balls at least 300 feet during that span. Two of them came with Shohei Ohtani on the mound, and the expectation is Ohtani will get the ball for a few innings in Game 7.

Guerrero Jr. has also hit .342 with a matching ISO against Dodgers relievers. He has excelled against the arms in their bullpen, and he’s likely to see plenty with the Dodgers having none of their playoff starters available on normal rest.

Vladdy has hit three homers over nine games in Toronto this postseason. It would not be surprising if he comes up big once again.
