Jose Soriano's inability to find the strike zone will allow the Dodgers to wear him down and pick up the win.

The Los Angeles Dodgers aim for a sweep in the Freeway Series as they host the Los Angeles Angels in Sunday’s finale.

The pitching matchup features Jose Soriano and Emmet Sheehan, with the Boys in Blue sitting as -200 favorites.

I’m backing the home side to stay hot in my Angels vs. Dodgers predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, June 7.

Who will win Angels vs Dodgers today: Dodgers -1.5 (+105)

Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jose Soriano still commands some respect in the market, but he’s an overvalued asset at this juncture after losing the ability to throw strikes.

The flamethrower has issued a whopping 18 walks across his last four starts. He’s up to a 38.6% ball rate, throwing the most pitches out of the zone among qualified starters.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have the highest contact rate (80.6%) and second-lowest O-Swing rate (27%) in the last 14 days. They also have the best wRC+ (152) against RHP and will plate enough runs to cover the run line.

Good to -110.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Emmet Sheehan dominates when he lets his 94th percentile chase rate and 81st percentile whiff rate do the talking. He should find room to work against an Angels lineup with the second-highest whiff rate (27.4%).

Angels vs Dodgers Over/Under pick: Under 8.5 (-115)

Sheehan has allowed no more than two earned runs in four of his last five starts, and the Dodgers are 1-4 O/U in that stretch. The Halos haven’t shown much verve at the plate, scoring two runs in the first 18 innings of this series, and lost Jorge Soler to the IL.

The Dodgers have a rested bullpen after Yoshinobu Yamamoto hurled eight frames on Saturday, and the Angels have a respectable 3.45 bullpen ERA in the last 14 days.

Soriano does have walk troubles, but he generates groundballs (86th percentile) and strikeouts (81st) at an ideal rate.
