KBO odds and betting picks for Thursday

The Doosan Bears plate a ridiculous 7.5 runs per game on the road this season, which includes 14 yesterday against the Heroes. Can the Bears bats keep bashing on Thursday?

KBO Picks

ESPN Game of the Day: Doosan Bears (29-20) vs Kiwoom Heroes (31-19)

Probable Pitchers: Jong-gi Park (1-1, 2.81 ERA) vs Young-gun Jo (1-1, 6.87 ERA)

The Bears responded in a big way to Tuesday’s series-opening loss to the Heroes with an emphatic 14-6 victory yesterday. And now we are set up with an exciting rubber match to close out the series.

The Bears continue to be one the KBO’s premier run-producing teams on the road, and with yesterday’s outburst they now average 7.5 runs per game on the road this season, and they are set up to keep it going.

The Heroes send 21-year-old Young-gun Jo to the mound, and while he's still one of coolest names in the KBO, things have not gone smoothly for the young right-hander. Jo has a 1.96 WHIP to go along with an unsightly 6.87 ERA.

The Bears should keep bashing in this one.

Pick: Doosan Bears Team Total Over 5.5 (-112)

SK Wyverns (14-35) vs Samsung Lions (26-24)

Probable Pitchers: Geon-wook Lee (2-1, 2.78 ERA) vs Tae-in Won (4-2, 2.96 ERA)

This Wyverns-Lions series has been highlighted by starting pitching, and Thursday’s finale should be no different.

Geon-wook Lee takes the ball for the Wyverns and he is in a groove right now. The 25-year-old righty hander has made a smooth transition from the Wyverns bullpen to the rotation, sporting a 1.74 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP over his last three starts.

The Lions counter with Tae-in Won. The 20-year-old right-hander has recorded a quality start in five of his last seven appearances, while owning a 2.27 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP over that stretch.

With two inconsistent lineups involved, pitching will be the story in this matchup once again.

Pick: Under 5.0 First 5 Innings (-124)

Lotte Giants (23-24) vs NC Dinos (33-15)

Probable Pitchers: Dan Straily (1-2, 2.43 ERA) vs Jae-hak Lee (3-3, 5.60 ERA)

Dan Straily is back on the mound for our favorite Waffles, as he and the Lotte Giants take on the NC Dinos in the rubber match of their three-game set.

Straily looked a little more human his last time out, allowing four runs on eight hits against the Lions. But even with that performance, he still has a 1.76 ERA and a 0.88 WHIP over his last six starts.

He faces a Dinos lineup that is slumping by their lofty standards, only plating 5.5 runs per game over their last 15 contests.

Meanwhile, Jae-hak Lee has been the Dinos most inconsistent starter this season with a 6.85 ERA with a 1.61 WHIP in five June starts.

But you can’t trust either bullpen in this game. Despite that hot streak, Straily has zero decisions in his last six starts, while the Dinos bullpen has been their Achilles heel all season long. So, we are backing the Waffles to have a lead halfway through this contest.

Pick: Lotte Giants -0.5 First 5 Innings (+128)

KBO Betting Record: 76-58-2, +12.46 units
