KBO Picks

ESPN Game of the Day: Doosan Bears (36-25) vs Kia Tigers (32-27)

Probable Pitchers: Hui-kwan Yu (6-3, 4.97 ERA) vs Aaron Brooks (4-3, 2.52 ERA)

The reigning Korean Series champs the Doosan Bears take on the fourth-place Kia Tigers and ace Aaron Brooks. However, Brooks has been shaky at home going 2-2 with a 3.79 ERA and a BAA of .301.

With a dangerous lineup of sluggers led by Jose Fernandez (.372 BA, 11 HRs, 44 RBI), Doosan leads the KBO with a batting average of .303. They also hit even better on the road, plating an incredible 7.48 runs per game, taking the Over 4.5 looks like the smart play.

PREDICTION: Team Total - Doosan Over 4.5 (-113)

KT Wiz (31-30) vs NC Dinos (40-19)

Probable Pitchers: Hyeong-jun So (4-5, 6.23 ERA) vs Mike Wright (6-2, 3.92 ERA)

Taking the league-leading Dinos on the runline has been a consistently profitable play this season. With that bet hitting for us again on Thursday we're taking another look at it for Friday's KBO action.

NC certainly has the edge on the mound with the solid Mike Wright and his 3.92 ERA against Hyeong-jun So, who has been rocked, especially on the road, where he's posted a 10.22 ERA in three starts.

At the plate, the Wiz have plenty of talented batters. But they don't play their best away from home, averaging 5.41 runs per game on the road, while the Dinos plate 6.48 runs per contest at home. The last time these teams met up, the Wiz hammered the Dinos 19-6 in June, but NC had previously won five games in a row in the head-to-head. Back the Dinos on the runline.

PREDICTION: NC Dinos -1.5 (-120)

Lotte Giants (29-30) vs Samsung Lions (32-30)

Probable Pitchers: Jun-won Seo (4-2, 4.30 ERA) vs Chae-heung Choi (5-2, 4.02 ERA)

Lotte has struggled on the road this season, going 11-19 and plating just 4.60 runs per game. Samsung is 19-14 at home while scoring 5.58 runs per contest.

The Lions also have Chae-heung Choi taking the hill. The 25-year-old is 4-1 with a sparkling 1.97 ERA and a BAA of .205 at home. With Samsung winning four of the last five games in the head-to-head, take them on the moneyline.

PREDICTION: Moneyline Samsung Lions (-138)

KBO Betting Record: 97-75-3, +14.5 units

KBO Betting Card for Friday, July 17

  • NC Dinos -1.5 (-120)
