The live stage version of popular TV game show Wheel of Fortune is set to launch in Las Vegas in July, to kick off a planned 60-city tour of the United States, as announced by Caesars Entertainment, the owner of one of Nevada’s top sportsbooks

Key Takeaways

  • Live stage version of top TV show launches in Vegas on July 11
  • The show will be staged at Paris Las Vegas and hosted by Mark L. Walberg
  • Vegas event includes on-site auditions for TV show

The show will be at the Paris Las Vegas for what is described as an ‘extended engagement’ and will be presented by Mark L. Walberg, who also hosts the relaunched version of Temptation Island on Netflix.

Alongside the live show, fans will have the chance to audition on-site for the opportunity to appear in a future TV show episode.

Wheel of Fortune also has its own slot version, developed by casino supplier International Game Technology (IGT). The Wheel of Fortune brand made another Las Vegas debut with its video poker game launch at the Las Vegas Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino.

Direct auditions

As with the TV show, the live version features audience members being randomly chosen to go up on stage and solve puzzles through spinning the Wheel, choosing letters and competing for prizes that include vacations or cash awards up to $10,000.

For an extra incentive, anyone who attends the show will be able to send an application and audition for the TV version directly to the show’s producers.

“We’ve been looking for ways to expand the Wheel of Fortune brand and create opportunities for our fans to engage in new and exciting ways. This live show is a fun, interactive first for enthusiasts to play a version of their favorite game show in their hometown,” said President of Game Shows for Sony Pictures Television, Suzanne Prete.

Nationwide tour

Sin City is the first stop of a 60-city tour across the U.S. planned for the fall. The full details of locations and dates have yet to be announced.

Tickets to the Vegas event will go on sale on April 25 and include VIP packages that offer early access to the venue, access to the pre-show lounge, premier seats, and opportunities for fans to have their photos taken with the wheel.

Wheel of Fortune, created by Merv Griffin, first appeared in 1975 and has aired continuously since. Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White present the TV version. It is in its 42nd syndicated season and has inspired over 60 versions worldwide.

In addition, Sony Pictures, the producer of Wheel of Fortune, also signed a 10-year licensing agreement with IGT in 2023, allowing IGT to distribute the brand across regulated gaming markets. Subsequently, the Wheel of Fortune Online Casino was launched in New Jersey with BetMGM.
