- BetMGM has launched Las Vegas live dealer games in Alberta.
- The games include blackjack, roulette, and baccarat, and will be streamed from MGM Resorts.
- Dual Play games, allowing Alberta players to join games with in-person Las Vegas players, will also be launched.
Alberta online casino players will have access to a range of live dealer games, such as blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. Each game will be hosted by a professional dealer and broadcast from MGM Resorts, following its partnership with casino supplier Playtech.
Dual Play games will also be available, allowing Alberta players to participate at the same time as in-person players. Those games include MGM Grand Live American Roulette, MGM Grand Live Roulette, Bellagio Live Roulette, MGM Grand Live Baccarat, and Bellagio Live Baccarat.
BetMGM says the launch advances its goal of providing premium online casino content to Alberta players while also giving them the chance to experience exclusive games with BetMGM and its partners.
"Live dealer content continues to be one of the fastest-evolving categories in iGaming," said Rob Passerino, director of gaming at BetMGM.
"Live dealer bridges the gap between online gaming and the casino floor, creating a more immersive and engaging experience for players. The real-time interaction with professional dealers and the ability to watch hands and spins unfold live adds a sense of authenticity that really resonates with players."

Alberta celebrates one month of regulated iGaming
Alberta’s regulated market launched on July 13. In the first 72 hours, the Vancouver-based geolocation and data compliance group GeoComply said it had recorded 3.2 million geolocation checks in the province and reported over 100,000 sign-ups to online casino operators.
Aug. 13 marked one month since the launch of the province’s regulated online gaming market, and Alberta iGaming Corporation CEO Dan Keene shared his thoughts on the milestone. In his comments, Keene said that support for regulated online gaming from industry stakeholders had “exceeded his expectations” and that the first month had proven the market was heading in the right direction.
“This first month has been encouraging. We won’t get everything perfect right away. But each step forward, no matter how small, will be taken with the utmost pride and intent, keeping the betterment of Alberta in mind—now and into the future,” Keene said.
On the first day of launch, 22 operators went live, including BetMGM, FanDuel, Caesars, and DraftKings. According to Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis, 50 operators had been approved for licenses prior to the launch.
Alberta became the second regulated market in Canada, following Ontario, which launched in 2022. In Ontario’s third year of operation, the province generated $3.2 billion in gross gaming revenue. Data supplied by market analysts at Citizens JMP Securities estimates that Alberta’s own market could generate $700 million in revenue a year.
