DraftKings is fueling more than just gambling entertainment with its multinational promotion at North American gas stations.

The sports betting, casino, and prediction market operator announced that it will offer free gas to customers at select gas stations in certain American and Canadian cities on Wednesday.

Key Takeaways

  • Passenger vehicles can fill up with a free tank of gas at participating locations in the U.S. and Canada.

  • The promotion comes one week before the Seahawks and Patriots kick off the NFL season in a Super Bowl rematch.

  • Locations and times will be announced closer to the promotion.

During DraftKings' one-day “Gameday Fuel” promotion, customers in eligible vehicles can get a free fill-up while supplies last.

The promotion will occur exactly one week before the NFL season gets underway with a Super Bowl rematch between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.

“The start of football season is one of the most exciting times of year at DraftKings, and 2026 marks a major milestone for our company,” said Stephanie Sherman, chief marketing officer at DraftKings. “This is our first football season with DraftKings Sports available to fans nationwide, and Gameday is our way of kicking off the season and celebrating our customers by bringing together exclusive offerings, giveaways and unforgettable experiences across the country.”

American players in Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta and Detroit can visit select gas stations for a refill while participating in giveaways, contests, and activations with appearances from special guests. DraftKings customers will have access to a variety of DraftKings Gameday promotions across the company’s sportsbook, prediction market, and casino options on Wednesday.

Canadian customers also get to fill up

Although the NFL is based in America, DraftKings isn’t ignoring Canada’s growing NFL fanbase. More than 15 million Canadians consider themselves fans of the league.

Free gas will also be offered Wednesday at select gas stations in Toronto, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta. DraftKings is one of the Ontario sports betting options, and also joined the fray in the recently launched Alberta sports betting market.

Gas station locations and event hours are yet to be announced.

An announcement released by DraftKings noted that the company had a “commitment” to honoring its Canadian userbase, which expanded considerably when Alberta launched its iGaming market on July 13.
