His heartache lasted for just a few hours, but his fever was sky high on Saturday.
Barstool founder Dave Portnoy's fandom for the Boston Celtics is well-known. He graciously tipped his cap to the New York Knicks for their Game Six win in the Eastern Conference semifinals Friday night, then flew out to Indianapolis to sit courtside to see his favorite WNBA player. Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever took on the Chicago Sky in the season opener for both squads Saturday.
Always up for action, Portnoy displayed a wager that he placed on DraftKings on Clark to record a triple-double (+1,300), putting up $25,000 in the hope that she could pull it off.

She did, posting her third career triple-double of her career with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists (while also adding four blocks, two steals) in a 93-58 home win. The milestone tied her with Candace Parker for third-most in league history.
Portnoy cashed for $325,000.

The amount is almost the entirety of Clark's rookie four-year contract ($338,056). This is Clark's second year in the league.

Clark's next contest
The Fever (1-0) will host the Atlanta Dream (0-1) on Tuesday. Will Portnoy use the winnings to post another Clark bet?
