European dominance has been on full display this week, as they’ve extended their lead to a near-insurmountable 11.5-4.5 margin.

Below, I break down Sunday’s Ryder Cup odds and highlight a few betting picks for Sept. 28.

Best Ryder Cup Day 3 predictions

Prop pick: Europe to win

There is no betting value in this market. This tournament is over, barring the largest comeback in Ryder Cup history.

The United States would need to win at least 10 of the 12 matches on Sunday, a feat that has, unsurprisingly, never been accomplished. Europe showed its dominance on each of the first two days, and a third consecutive day of control is likely.

Regardless, there is no betting value on either side of this market.

There is still pride on the line, and given that Sunday’s mood is likely to be more relaxed, the United States may steal a few points en route to their eventual loss. In the fifth match of the day, Patrick Cantlay takes on Ludvig Åberg.

Åberg has had a difficult week despite Europe’s success. He ranks last on the team in total strokes gained (-4.78) and is one of only two Europeans with a losing record this week.

There are multiple reasons to be optimistic about Cantlay in this matchup. First, he outranks Åberg in both total strokes gained and point percentage.

Second, this week has essentially turned into a putting competition. That’s been the separator in this event, as each of the top six leaders in strokes gained putting are European.

No other metric has shown such a stark divide. This trend also makes sense, given the lack of thick rough and the relative ease of hitting greens.

That bodes well for Cantlay in this specific matchup, as he leads Åberg by 1.14 strokes gained putting this week.

Lastly, Cantlay holds a clear experience advantage.
