The Europeans jumped out to a 5.5-2.5 lead following Friday’s dominant opening round.

Below, I break down Saturday’s Ryder Cup odds and highlight a few betting picks for Saturday, September 27.

Prop pick: United States to win

The bad news for the Americans is that Friday’s opening session could not have gone much worse. The good news, however, is that they can turn the score right back around on Saturday, as it features the same format with the same number of points available.

Scheffler is undoubtedly the best player in the world, while DeChambeau isn’t far behind. They aren’t likely to be left off the scoresheet on back-to-back days, and a bounce-back is far more likely than a repeat performance.

Speaking of Scheffler, he has lost only two tournaments in the past two and a half months. He lost two matches on Friday, so history suggests the probability of two poor days in a row is quite low.

Prop pick: Day 2 Foursome correct score — United States 3-1
+400 at Fanatics

As mentioned earlier, the likelihood of Scheffler having poor back-to-back days is extremely low. He’s reunited with Henley, and they’ll face MacIntyre and Hovland, a duo that lost by two to Schauffele and Cantlay in Friday’s foursomes.

The same logic applies to DeChambeau. He’s now paired with Young, as Justin Thomas is out of the rotation. That change is timely, considering no player lost more strokes in Friday’s foursomes than Thomas.

That leaves the final two matches. The U.S. would need to win one of them to cash a 3-1 correct score bet. Yesterday, McIlroy and Fleetwood dominated English and Morikawa, and such a drastic reversal seems unlikely.

A more realistic scenario is Schauffele and Cantlay beating Rahm and Hatton. While Rahm and Hatton looked strong on Friday, Schauffele and Cantlay were the only American team to win their foursomes match, and they’re certainly capable of carrying that momentum into Saturday.
