The difficulty of the West Coast Swing goes way up this week, with the PGA Tour stopping at the demanding Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open.

While Xander Schauffele tops the Farmers Insurance Open odds lists, I’m targeting trending Cameron Young and Hideki Matsuyama to headline my top golf picks this week.

Golf picks for the Farmers Insurance Open 2025

  • Young to win outright (+2000)
  • Matsuyama to win outright (+2800)
  • Clark Top 20 (+210)
  • Rodgers Top 20 (+260)

Farmers Insurance Open outright picks

Outright pick: Cameron Young
+2000 at Fanatics

Cameron Young is dialed in heading to Torrey Pines this week, with true strokes gained across the board dating back to his win at the Wyndham, including ranking sixth in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green, fourth in off-the-tee play, and fourth in putting.

The only knock is his lackluster track record at Torrey, but he did card a T20 in 2022, and his game has never been tighter than it is now.

Outright pick: Hideki Matsuyama
+2800 at Fanatics

Hideki Matsuyama has gained true strokes on approach in each of his past six trips to Torrey Pines, and he’s carded a pair of Top 10s and three more Top 15s at the track during his career.

I also value Matsuyama following up his win at the Hero World Challenge with a T13 at the Sony Open, where he ranked third in true strokes gained tee-to-green.

Farmers Insurance Open prop picks

Finishing position pick: Wyndham Clark Top 20
+210 at Fanatics

This is a nice price for Wyndham Clark after a disappointing final round dropped him down the leaderboard at The American Express. He played in the second-to-last group on Sunday.

Clark heads to Torrey Pines on a T8-T13 run and will be playing the track for the eighth time competitively. I’m anticipating his tee-to-green game and solid putting leading the way to his best career finish in this event.

Finishing position pick: Patrick Rodgers Top 20
+260 at Fanatics

With four Top 10s at Torrey Pines, this is a great price for Patrick Rodgers, especially considering he finished T3 here at the Genesis Invitational last year.

Rodgers also ranked eighth in true strokes gained on approach last week at the Amex and is 18th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green and 13th in driving distance across his past six tournaments.

Farmers Insurance Open first-round pick

Round 1 score pick: Tony Finau Over 72.5
-115 at Fanatics

Tony Finau has missed the cut in three of his past six trips to Torrey Pines, and he’s also missed consecutive cuts to start the 2026 PGA Tour season. He also ranks 85th in this field in true strokes gained tee-to-green, 92nd in putting, and 123rd in driving accuracy across his past 15 events.
