The name of the game is going low this week in the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

The 2026 PGA Tour season is entering the home stretch, and my top John Deere Classic predictions and long shot golf picks for the week are headlined by Jackson Suber.

John Deere Classic sleeper predictions

Sleeper pick to win: Denny McCarthy
+5000 at BetMGM

This event has been kind to Denny McCarthy. He's carded a T11-T7-T6-T6 run with an elite +1.21 true strokes gained per round on the field throughout his seven trips to TPC Deere Run.

McCarthey is also coming off a solid weekend (66-65) at the Travelers to finish T14, and his elite putting and course familiarity are ample incentive when he’s trading this far down the odds board.

Sleeper pick to win: Jackson Suber
+5500 at BetMGM

The 26-year-old American gained true strokes across the board last week in the Travelers (T30), and he’s carded a pair of Top 5s across his past five events while ranking eighth in tee-to-green play and 15th on approach.

Still, I’m most encouraged about Suber ranking fifth in this field in Par-5 scoring and 10th in birdie-or-better percentage because you’ll need to go low to contend this week.

Sleeper pick to win: Austin Eckroat
+12500 at BetMGM

This is a long number for a two-time PGA Tour winner, and especially considering Austin Eckroat finished T11 in this event last season while ranking second in true strokes gained on approach and 11th in tee-to-green play.

Obviously, there’s no sugarcoating the tough season Eckroat’s battling through, but he popped for a T10 at the Valero Texas Open, and he’s gained true strokes putting in six of his past seven events.

Finally, Eckroat ranking seventh in this field in birdie-or-better percentage also has my attention.
