Barney, nice info you posted in here. my only future was taking Colombians. backed them vs Ecuador not even knowing Duvan/Muriel up front werent starting & my customary Bolivian fade ? got lucky twice. enough of that for me. agreed, is it really necessary to have a Group stage when 8 of the 10 advance? part of me thinking why even bother. not in-tune as much as you but feel bad for the fans, thats quite a mess the Copa has gone through the past 2-3 weeks. GL and continued success with this. hope all is well with fam.
Thanks Spec, we're all good, not sure when I'm heading back to Colombia. Depends on vaccines and work. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Lines are very tight. There have been a few gifts in the Euro but not too much here in the Copa

Did a write up on another PC, can't get to it now....
This is a play against a just OK Argentina squad vs a just OK Uruguay squad. On paper Argentina should easily handle Uruguay in this match tomorrow. But the match is on grass, not paper.
In short Argentina is disjointed in their matches since November Qualifiers and then in the past 3 weeks, squandering leads, no cohesion, issues in the back field although Romero should start but won't be 100%.
Uruguay in recent matches just as bad as Argentina, but were without Cavani the last two.
Armani is still not in goal for Argentina due to Covid.
Messi's free kick/set piece vs Chile is the only way they can score or will score against the likes of any decent team. That free kick/ESPN highlight probably gets Uruguay backers an extra .20 of line value and the Name Argentina also scores another.20 cents.
DiMaria will probably start in place of Gonzalez. There's not enough time/practice/friendlies to keep messing with the lineup. Argentina always underperforms in these types of tourneys, they are prima donnas, don't like the venue change for the COPA and are basing in Argentina and flying into Brazil for these matches instead of staying put in Brazil. That is definitely eating into practice time not to mention Scaloni is a mediocre coach. Argentina is always tough to manage as it is despite the fact that Messi stopped battling the coach since last world cup.
Argentina players are not mentally ready/up for this tourney. Uruguay will play more aggressive than Chile. In the back of the Argentina players' minds will be the possibility of having an easy scapegoat in Scaloni. This is the way they think. Also Argentina players seem to think just a little bit more about their clubs than their country - just a little bit.
All these little tiny things mentioned above all add up and equal half a goal that doesn't appear on paper/stat analysis.
Match screams "tie, there is no clear favourite!". URU +.5 screams "take me!" and Uruguay back line and front line screams, "I'm too old are you crazy?!". Because of that I am betting less than I usually would in this situation.
URU +½ -127 3U* TIE +237 1U*
Only betting half now and the other half later: great performances by Brazil and Colombia today might fire up the Argentina backers and get us better prices tonight or tomorrow.

One word on last night's 0-0: Fariñez. Who the F let him play? He was supposed to be out for last night's match!
Pending URU tonight (see above). ARG is overrated, similar to Croatia in the Euro. Too much past reputation affecting the line and not enough "What have you done for me lately". If Argentina look bad tonight vs Uruguay, and I suspect they will, the PAR lines will be less favorable.
Tonight's CHI/BOL match, lean CHI but too much wood. Taking:
CHI/BOL
CHI Clean Sheet -119 1U
PAR/ARG
Writeup coming
PAR +.5 +155 4U
VEN/ECU
Writeup: Fariñez - the best goal keeper not playing in Europe

i'm also liking Venezuela in their next match also...provided the same keeper plays. this team has overcome a ton of adversity so far, and who knows, maybe the stars align for them on sunday to get a win
